sharing time

I love blogs that are fun to read, but also useful.

Here's a few things I want to share with you!

I've had my eye on the Handful Bra for a while.  I'm not a girl who needs a ton of support.  That's ok though.  I've nourished three babes through their first year and that's what truly counts, right?  This bra looks just right.  You can enter to win one here!

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love my Bob Revolution Duallie.  Thanks to living in a neighborhood I can run in, I don't need to use it as much as I did a few years ago.  I find running with a jogging stroller quite exhilarating and I'm proud of myself when I do it.  The slower pace and sometimes frequent stops really don't bother me.

BUT, this mama, she is incredible.  10 miles with a TRIPLE today.  Check out her recap here.  I love her mantra too.  But you'll have to click over to find out what it is.  Yes she is a super fast runner, not your average mom runner.  But she faces the same daily challenges as other runner-mothers.  Her 10 miles with a triple might be equivalent to your 3 miles with a single, but what matters is that you are doing it.

Here's another virtual race specifically for the female variety (you don't have to be a mom).  Like I mentioned in my last blog, these are free and fun and you never know if you might win a prize.  In the past few years of my forays on the interwebs I've won quite a few things just for one or two entries or comments.  (if you decide to register, you can tell them I sent you!)

I am very close to registering for my first marathon.  Very close.  I read this post last night and it has about pushed me over the edge.  I loved this recap of a mom's first marathon.  Yes, I'm crazy.  But I think a marathon before I turn 35 would be a great accomplishment.

  1. Hi! OK, so Insanity... We have done every workout per the calendar. We started on a Wednesday, so Tuesdays are our off day, and we just go in sequential order as the calendar says to, not the same days of the week. We fit in the workouts usually after the kids are in bed, at about 8 or 8:30pm. Not gonna lie - I'm tired. My body is tired and I'm way behind on So You Think You Can Dance because now my evenings are spent working out. But I have loved doing it with my husband, and we definitely help each other stay accountable - both to getting the workout in, and to trying hard during the workout. I think it's still a good activity, even if you can only fit in some of it, but probably for maximum results the 6 days/week would be necessary. I can see a change in myself after just 2.5 weeks, which is exciting. Not a big size change or weight change, but I'm starting to get back some of those ab muscles that have been MIA since pregnancy(ies). Let me know how it goes! What marathon are you considering?
